The weekend is finally here! It’s the perfect time to relax and unwind, but also plan for the week ahead. This is the BEST way to get in some much needed self care, and get everything done for a fabulous work week ahead!
Between weekend sports, household chores, and running errands it can feel like we’re doing 10,000 things at once, I get it! I know it feels like you have little to no time for yourself, but this weekend self care routine will make sure you get everything prepped, ready and taken care of- including yourself so your work week is smooth sailing, and fabulous.

Saturday
Saturdays mornings are all about getting the errands done. You’re going to put on a load of laundry, and head out to do all of your grocery shopping. Grab a coffee on the way, and enjoy the morning. We’re not doing any cleaning on Saturdays! We are going to spend the whole day, pretty much out of the house and getting all the errands done.
Saturday nights are also for take- out. Get something that the whole family is going to love. This day is all about relaxing, so we don’t want to have to be doing any dishes.
Once the kids are in bed, that’s when it’s time for a little self care, and relaxation.
1. Run Your Bath
You’re going to run yourself a luxurious bath! If you don’t have one, get yourself a bath tub tray and pour yourself a glass of wine, or a nice mocktail. Turn off the big bathroom light, and put on some candles. If you’re going for ultimate luxury- get the Neom Perfect Night Sleep Bath Foam. 2. Dry Brushing
While the bath is still running you’re going to dry brush your whole body, and exfoliate all of the dead skin off. I am obsesssed with dry brushing! It’s so great for so many things- It exfoliates your skin, gets the blood flowing, and it even helps with cellulite.
3. Face Mask
After that, put on a face mask. I recently have been loving the Thomas Roth Masks- They have a little sample set that comes with a bunch of different ones, so you can try them out.
4. Hair Mask
Treat your hair to a luxurious hair mask. This is the time you want to do all the things- The scalp serum, the rosemary oil, the nourishing- rich hair mask. Put your hair in a claw clip and hop in the tub.
After you’re finished with the bath, turn on the shower and rinse off all the soap and shave your legs. You could do this in the tub, but I just don’t like the idea of sitting in a bath tub filled with my leg hair lol BUT perfectly up to you. You at least want to get all the soap off and rinse out the hair mask.

5. Moisturize
While your skin is still a little damp, you’re going to put on aaall the creams. Start with a nice body oil! Putting oil on after you shave is going to make your legs feel next-level smooth… and then a thick cream.
6. Pajamas
Then you’re going to want to put on a nice matching cozy set of pajamas. You want a soft, warm matching set. This is a night for self care, and pampering so no old baggy shirt and sweatpants. This Amazon set is my go-to I bought it in 3 different colors.
7. Put on a GOOD movie
Put the phone away! You want to put on a classic movie, something light hearted and funny. Maybe a good comedy. If you’re into crime documentaries (same) put on one of those, just something that you actually enjoy that you never get to watch when the kids are running around.
8. Try to fall asleep early
However it works for you- Get a good nights sleep. If you have to sleep with the fan on, or your white noise machine, whatever it takes- do that. You want to fully unwind from the week and get a full nights, restful sleep!
Sunday
Sundays are the perfect day to kickstart your week on the right foot. Now that you’re waking up feeling rested, and relaxed from your Saturday Self Care- You’ll be more than ready to tackle the day.
1. Start with an Amazing Breakfast
Start your morning the right way, and have a big family breakfast together. Make the pancakes, do the Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls cut up all the fruit. You want to have a big, delicious breakfast to start off the day.
2. Household chores
This is the time to get all the weekly maintenance things done around the house. Put some music on and do the mopping, clean out the fridge- all the weekly bigger tasks.
3. Meal Prepping
With all the groceries you just bought yesterday and freshly cleaned kitchen- you are going to meal prep all of your food for the week.
4. Plan out your clothes
Check the forecast for the week and plan out your outfits- I cannot believe how much time this really does save in the morning. Every time I don’t set my clothes out before hand I regret it- every.single.time. I can hear my mother’s voice in my head saying “failing to plan is planning to fail” lol and then we’re late and everyone’s stressed.
Plan your clothes! This weekly closet organizer has literally changed my life! My daughter is able to just grab her clothes and get herself ready in the morning, and I swear when your kids can dress themselves, the next part of your life begins lol.
5. Self Tan!
Nothing does a better job at lifting my spirits, than a good spray tan. The winter is so much easier to self tan because honestly, no one is ever really seeing your bare arms, or your legs- So make it easy on yourself, and just do your face, neck and chest! It will take you 3 minutes! And you’re already exfoliated from Saturday! If you want to make it EVEN EASIER on yourself, you NEED the Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Water. I use the shade medium. It dries in seconds, just spray, spray spray, and you’re done. It says to rub it in with a self tanning glove, but I just let it dry or use a big fluffy brush. Game changer.
6. Do something as a family
Once the house is cleaned, and everyone has eaten dinner, do something together. I love playing a board game or cards with my family. It’s just a really nice way to end the weekend.
7. Overnight Blowout
Before you go to bed, wrap your hair with a silk overnight blowout rod. The curls are going to hold a little better, since you washed it the day before. This way you are up and ready to go with a fresh blowout for the work week.
Things come up, and you may not be able to do this routine every single weekend, but it’s a good base to go off of. By dedicating one day to pure relaxing, and pampering yourself and the next to getting shit done (can you swear on a blog? lol) your week will go by so much smoother! You will be relaxed, your mornings will be easier, and you’ve spent some quality time with your family. It’s all about balance! Give it a try! xo
